One of the great things about the old Mercedes 508's is that they are so easy to work on, if needed.
No computers, just add diesel, water, and oil... and they run virtually forever.
New tires all around and is in good running condition. This is a van for living in!
It has a separate battery system for the 'house' that is recharged while driving. The whole van can be plugged into regular electricity as well.
A really great home with two sleeping areas (a 3rd could easily be made in the dining room).
At nearly 2 meters square.. the main bed area is said to be one of the most comfortable beds by the few who have had the opportunity to sleep in it. There is also a refrigerator (gas/elec/12 volt), 2 burner gas stove, nice sink with foot-switch for the water. It also includes a 6 CD changer/ cassette radio. The passenger seat in the front is really comfortable. We insulated the inside with decorative cork, it looks lovely. Portable toilet. Extra tires and rims. There is a top box and storage rack.
There are plenty of cabinets and two large storage bins (one inside, one outside) where we used to store our sound system and instruments. The ceiling is so high at one point that you could actually juggle! I can stand there and stretch to touch it... and I'm 6 feet tall!!!
Partially renovated with lots of love and a sense of humor (why do the windows have picture frames? Because when you park up in the places we have... the landscapes are more beautiful than any painting we could place there!)
What's wrong? The water reservoir has been removed but there is plenty of space under for a new one. The gas furnace has also been removed, but all the tubing and valve switches are still there. The bedroom window on the front needs replacing, I sealed it with clear silicon.
We truly loved this van but our life has shifted again.
It's time for it to move on to another loving family.
